Better Technical Skills and Inclusive Environments for Workforce Development in Ukraine's Mechanical Engineering Sector
The Better Technical Skills and Inclusive Environments for Workforce Development in Ukraine's Mechanical Engineering Sector project, implemented by Lviv Polytechnic National University with support from USAID, aims to improve the quality of education for youth and adults, including those with special educational needs. The grant aimed to establish a research and education centre, "Engineering and Robotics", and an inclusive learning space ", Without Limits." The project involves equipping the university with modern technical equipment, training teachers to use it effectively, updating educational programs, and developing business partnerships.
Project results achieved:
- Equipment for the research and education centre and the inclusive learning space was purchased and installed.
- Training was provided for 16 teachers on the use of new equipment.
- Four educational programs for technical specialities were updated, and two short-term courses for machine-building employees were developed.
- A conference was organized for representatives of five local enterprises to promote technologies and cooperation.
- Three agreements were signed with enterprises to implement research results into production.
- Six university open days for youth were held.
- An information campaign was implemented with publications and a press conference with the participation of the media.
- An electronic brochure and promotional video were created and distributed to attract women to technical professions.
The project was implemented within the framework of the Better Technical Skills and Inclusive Conditions for Workforce Development in the Machine Building Sector of Ukraine project, which was assisted by the USAID Economic Support to Ukraine Project.
