Natalia Dankova joined the Gender Equality Partnerships Networking Day in Kyiv

The event was organized for 12 university teams from all over Ukraine, which were part of the Gender Equality Partnerships British Council Ukraine projects.

"The focus was on ways to implement gender equality and social inclusion policies in higher education, research results, experience of implemented mentoring programs, and new opportunities for partnerships.", - Share the organizers of the event.

"Participation in the event deepened our knowledge and understanding of the problem of gender discrimination in higher education institutions from different perspectives. We participated in the discussion on various practices of Ukrainian universities. Universities are often not associated with this issue, because the vast majority of employees are women, but the fact that men predominate in leadership and management positions is not taken into account, although this is changing," shares Natalia Dankova.

Our team implemented the ONLY project, an educational program designed for female employees of higher education institutions in Ukraine, aimed at developing leadership and innovation.

Together with Kingston University (Great Britain), we worked with 34 participants from 25 universities. Participants participated in a series of training sessions and mini-MBAs, receiving mentoring and coaching from international teachers and trainers. They developed institutional projects and began implementing them in their educational institutions. Additionally, three participants joined the study in Kingston.

Currently, we continue networking events.

Participants also participated in discussions and work:

▪ discussing practices and implemented changes, projects on gender equality and non-discrimination

▪ worked in groups on practical steps for the sustainability of gender initiatives, evaluating changes, and institutionalizing projects

▪ exchanged experiences and found new opportunities for cooperation in an informal atmosphere;
