LASER-PRO

Project - LASER-PRO

HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-07
Number: 101186838
Duration: 48 months
Start date: 01.02.2025
Project completion date: 31 December 2028

LASER-PRO is a unique opportunity to bring together two laser innovation ecosystems, creating an innovation culture on real sites in the Czech Republic and Lithuania. Through activities such as developing a joint research and innovation strategy, implementing joint research projects, preparing investment and operational plans, as well as mutual learning and skills development, the links between science, business, government and society will be strengthened. This will enable the creation of a sustainable ecosystem of research and innovation in the cutting-edge field of laser technologies and their applications. Ukrainian partners are involved in the project through a mentoring scheme, which opens up new opportunities for cooperation and innovative activity in the field of laser technologies.

A cross-border networked innovation community based on the "quadruple helix" model is currently being created in Ukraine. In the future, it is planned to conduct activities that enhance the personal and organisational potential of participants in this ecosystem, thereby contributing to the support, strengthening, and expansion of the community at both local and international levels by disseminating best practices among new potential participants.

Participation in LaserPro enables NP LP to attract new industrial partners, particularly in the fields of mechanical engineering, medicine, defence, and lighting, where high-precision laser equipment can be utilised. Additionally, thanks to participation in LaserPro, NP LP will gain access to best practices and cases that can be scaled up and submitted as a model for obtaining new grants, investments, or participation in international projects.

Lviv Polytechnic, as a participant in the LaserPro project consortium, has access to advanced research in the field of photonics, optics, and electronics, which will significantly enhance the effectiveness of applied science within the university and the active involvement of graduate students, students, and teachers in participating in the R&D stages of the project, forming teams to exchange experience with European partners.
